RedirectSentinel
Forget about creating redirects. Forever.
Stop losing traffic to broken URLs in your Shopify store. Every time you unpublish, archive or delete a product or a collection, the addresses Google had already indexed stop working. Shopify doesn't warn you and keeps no record of those 404s. RedirectSentinel does.
What it does
- Catches URLs the moment they break. When a product is unpublished, archived or deleted, the app notices it and records the address that stopped working.
- Proposes where each one should go. It suggests the closest live page — the product's collection, a similar product, a parent category — and tells you why.
- Applies it, or waits for you. You decide how much autonomy it has: propose only, apply what's safe, or apply everything.
- Keeps your existing redirects healthy. It finds chains, loops and redirects that point to pages that no longer exist.
- Watches renamed pages too. Shopify usually creates a redirect when you rename something, but not always — and anyone can delete it later. RedirectSentinel keeps track of those as well.
- Import and export. In Shopify's own CSV format, checked before anything is written.
Google Search Console (optional)
If you connect Google Search Console, RedirectSentinel uses read-only access to your search performance data (which pages and queries get impressions and clicks) to prioritise broken URLs by the traffic they had, and to discover indexed URLs that no longer exist in your store. It never modifies anything in your Google account, and you can disconnect it at any time. See the privacy policy for details.
